Private Consultations
Complementary Care:
* Nutrition
* Hygiene Management (General Care)
This consult consists of taking you step-by-step transitioning your companion animal over to a more nutritious and wholesome diet. Nutrition is the building blocks of all life. Without it there is little hope for true health, vitality, and longevity. The pace of transition is set by you and your animal. Also discussed in this consult are the many ways that you can make your animal's environment safer and healthier.
Alternative Care:
* Homeopathy
In most cases the Complementary consultation reveals that your animal would definitely benefit from more in-depth care. Generally, once the animal is well on their way to better nutrition, homeopathy has a better chance of completing the healing process.
The essence of achieving a successful outcome for your animal’s health from homeopathy is in the ability to conduct a thorough “intake” or history and ask the right questions. Expect the first phase of this homeopathic consult to take anywhere between an hour to three hours depending upon the age of the individual and the severity of the complaint(s). The consult can take place in your home or on the phone. The consultant will require a description of the animal, relevant medical and family histories, and an overview of the presenting complaints. We will delve into the physical symptoms of every part of the body – head to tail, including all internal organs. Everything about the individual animal is important. Of great import is the animals mental/emotional self - how the animal reacts to the environment. Anger, aggression, jealousy, loss of control, fears, phobias, obsessions all can be affected greatly from the correct homeopathic remedy.
The second phase of the homeopathic consult requires the homeopath to analyze and research the information acquired during the consult and to arrive at the best remedy suited to the individual. This process can take one to three days depending on the complexity of the case.
Phase three is providing the remedy and waiting to see the individual’s response to the remedy. This phase takes a great amount of patience on the caretaker’s part. Generally speaking, the longer the animal has been ill, the more time is needed for the individual to re-balance self. The re-balancing of self to normal health varies from individual to individual. Again, generally speaking, the younger the individual the faster the response.
Seldom with our animals – especially the older animals - do we see a complete return to perfect health with just one remedy. Unlike humans, animals can not tell us how they feel or the where or how of the sensation. This limits the animal homeopath to finding the simillimum.
Homeopathic remedies can be sourced from the mineral, vegetable, animal and human kingdoms. They are used in miniscule amounts, are non-toxic and are recognized by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Homeopathy regards symptoms as the body’s healthy attempt to restore itself to balance. A homeopath will choose a remedy that supports the symptoms – rather than opposing them or suppressing them as in conventional medicine.
Acute cases (traumas, poisonings, infectious diseases, first aid) take a far shorter period of time and generally the phone consult will take 20 - 30 min. (It helps if the client has the homeopathic remedies on hand).
Para-alternative Care: * Flower Essences
Systems of healing with flower essences (FE) utilize similar principles to homeopathy. Wright describes FE as “liquid pattern-infused solutions made from individual plant flowers, each containing a specific imprint that responds in a balancing, repairing and rebuilding manner to imbalances in humans [all living beings] on their physical, emotional, mental and spiritual or universal levels”.
In some cases, animals that exhibit a few mild mental/emotional complaints with no physical complaints generally respond quite well to FE – especially in acute situations. It is my experience that homeopathic remedies affect at a much deeper level of dis-ease than flower essences. I have found FE to be of value with animals being re-homed or helping them to adjust to change with more ease. I suggest the use of FE to those who prefer not to take advantage of homeopathy.
* Animal Communication
The telepathic bridge between you and your animal friends, forging a deeper bond than you may ever have imagined there could be. Phone consults are by appointment. All that is required is you and your animal's name, age and what your animal looks like.
* Aromatherapy
The mass commercialization of scented toiletries and bath products has led the general public to believe that anything that is scented is “aromatherapy”.
Aromatherapy is the therapeutic use of pure, unadulterated essential oils, hydrosols, and other fragrant plant materials for holistic health treatments designed to influence the overall health of a human or an animal.
Although these materials’ most dominant feature is their scent, their true capabilities are determined by their chemical composition. Aromatherapy works with animals on multiple levels: physically, emotionally, conditionally, evolutionarily and spiritually.
Again, I am more homeopathically focused and believe that the depth of healing accomplished by homeopathic remedies is unmatched by any other therapy. Since healing or re-balancing self benefits from a multi-prong approach I tend to use essential oils in home-made cleaning products, hygiene products, and insect repellants – thus benefitting the animals and the environment.
* Behavior Modification
My goal is to help you build a relationship of trust, respect, and true companionship with your canine partner using positive training methods. No yelling, no choke chains, no prong collars, no shock collars, no jerking the animal.
This means consistently rewarding good behaviors and replacing "problem" behaviors by teaching and rewarding acceptable alternatives.
“Training” your animal is meant to be fun for both you and your animal.
While Nutrition, Hygiene, and Homeopathy are my focus and passion, I am available to help those who do want a relationship with their companion. Consults or sessions can be scheduled on a weekly basis or a consult can be an occasional phone call for help in a problem area. (FREE of charge first 20 min.).
If schedules do not match, please see Positive Fun & Training page for recommendations.
